ABQnews | Saudi-Arabien / Iran | Der iranische Außenminister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian hat auf offizielle Einladung seines saudischen Amtskollegen Prinz Faisal bin Farhan Teheran verlassen und ist mit einer hochrangigen Delegation an der Spitze nach Riad gereist, teilte das iranische Außenministerium mit.
Im Juni traf Prinz Faisal bei seinem ersten Besuch im Land nach der Wiederaufnahme der diplomatischen Beziehungen mit der Islamischen Republik im März mit iranischen Beamten in Teheran zusammen.
Im März einigten sich Iran und Saudi-Arabien in einem von China vermittelten Abkommen darauf, eine diplomatische Kluft zu beenden und die Beziehungen wiederherzustellen, nachdem jahrelange Feindseligkeiten die regionale Stabilität im Golf sowie im Jemen, in Syrien und im Libanon gefährdet hatten.
Saudi-Arabien brach 2016 die Beziehungen zum Iran ab, nachdem Demonstranten als Vergeltung für die Hinrichtung eines prominenten schiitischen Geistlichen in Riad seine Botschaft in Teheran angegriffen hatten.
