ABQnews | Israel / Tel Aviv | Das israelische Verteidigungsministerium gab am Sonntag bekannt, dass es eine dritte Staffel von F-35-Kampfflugzeugen im Wert von 3 Milliarden US-Dollar kaufen werde.
Das Ministerium fügte hinzu, dass die 25 Flugzeuge von Lockheed Martin hergestellt werden und die Gesamtzahl der F-35 in der israelischen Luftwaffe auf 75 erhöhen werden, und fügte hinzu, dass der Deal durch Hilfe finanziert wird, die die Vereinigten Staaten der israelischen Armee gewähren.
Israel ist neben den USA das erste Land, das F-35-Kampfflugzeuge erworben hat. Und im Mai 2018 sagte der Kommandeur der israelischen Luftwaffe, dass Israel das erste Land sein würde, das das Flugzeug bei Feindseligkeiten einsetzen würde.
Diese Kämpfer sind auch als Joint Strike Fighter und in Israel unter dem hebräischen Namen Adir bekannt.
