ABQnews| Libyen / Ägypten / Frankreich | Die ägyptische Präsidentschaft sagte in einer Erklärung, dass Präsident Abdel Fattah El-Sisi am Freitag nach Paris reisen wird, um an einer Konferenz über Libyen teilzunehmen und Gespräche mit seinem französischen Amtskollegen Emmanuel Macron zu führen.
Die Konferenz wird gemeinsam von den Vereinten Nationen, Deutschland und Italien organisiert und findet vor den am 24. Dezember in Libyen geplanten Wahlen statt.
Ägypten, das sich auf wirtschaftliche Möglichkeiten in Libyen freut, forderte die Abhaltung der Wahlen, trotz Differenzen zwischen den libyschen Fraktionen.
Ägypten unterstützte die Streitkräfte der libyschen Nationalarmee unter dem Kommando von Militärkommandant Khalifa Haftar nach früheren Wahlen im Jahr 2014, die eine Eskalation des Konflikts verursachten und das Land effektiv in zwei Lager im Osten und Westen des Landes teilten.
