OIC bietet an, Afghanistan beim Frieden zu helfen und Evakuierungen zu erleichtern

Die OIC sagte, sie werde versuchen, Frieden in Afghanistan zu erreichen und Evakuierungsoperationen am Sonntag zu erleichtern. (@OIC_OCI)

ABQnews| Saudi Arabien / OIC | Die Organisation für Islamische Zusammenarbeit (OIC) teilte am Sonntag mit, dass sie versuchen werde, zum Frieden in Afghanistan beizutragen und Evakuierungsoperationen aus dem Land zu erleichtern.

Während einer Dringlichkeitssitzung des 57-köpfigen Gremiums zur Erörterung der Lage in Afghanistan forderte OIC-Generalsekretär Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen die Taliban auf, das humanitäre Völkerrecht und das Recht auf Leben und Sicherheit zu respektieren.

Al-Othaimeen fügte hinzu, dass die Organisation von den Behörden in Afghanistan einen umfassenden Dialog und eine nationale Aussöhnung erwarte.

Im Abschlusskommuniqué der OIC heißt es, die Mitgliedstaaten seien besorgt über die sich verschlechternde humanitäre Lage in Afghanistan infolge des Zustroms von Vertriebenen.

Sie fügte hinzu, dass die Organisation sich verpflichtet habe, Afghanistan zu helfen und dem Land Frieden zu bringen. Die OIC stehe an der Seite des afghanischen Volkes und betonte, dass ihre Rechte geschützt werden sollten, heißt es in der Erklärung.

Die Dringlichkeitssitzung wurde von Saudi-Arabien angefordert.
