ABQnews| EU/ USA | Die Europäische Union will einem Zeitungsbericht zufolge nach den Zerwürfnissen in der Trump-Ära mit der kommenden US-Regierung eine neue Allianz schmieden.
Mit dem Bündnis solle auch dem Machtbewusstsein Chinas entgegengetreten werden, berichtete die “Financial Times” am Sonntag unter Berufung auf einen entsprechenden EU-Entwurf für das Vorhaben. Darin heiße es auch, man müsse die Bindungen mit gemeinsamen Positionen von der Digital-Regulierung bis hin zum Kampf gegen Covid-19 wieder stärken. Das Papier solle den nationalen EU-Staats- und Regierungschefs bei einem Treffen am 10. und 11. Dezember vorgelegt werden. Für das erste Halbjahr 2021 sei dann ein Gipfel EU/USA vorgehen, bei dem eine neue transatlantische Agenda ins Leben gerufen werden solle.
